Episode VI: Return of the Money

rebelalliancelogo.pngA long long time ago (September), in a galaxy far far away (Nunawading), I should have known my laptop would have been a problem, if bought from Centrecom.

First I was met by a terrible salesman. They couldn’t pick when I knew more than they did (or if they did, they continued to lie to me).

When it arrived, however, I was happy. Although, anything was better than going from an X2 3800+/2gb/7800GT to a XP 2600+/512mb/9600Pro, so thats not too suprising.

Google was against me, but that didn’t stop the fact that they were less than helpful.

Then they pissed off my mother by offering me the A8JP for what Myer was selling it, plus attempting to hit me with a 10% restocking fee.

In the end, after I said no, they said ‘oh, Asus will allow that, we can give you the full refund – no restocking fee‘ .
That was all good, and I expected my refund to come in smoothly. I was wrong, it took three weeks (finally got it uh, yesterday?) to arrive, not because of bank screw ups, and not on my behalf – I called them four times about it – but because they just hadn’t done it.
I wont’ be buying from Centrecom again, and I will recommend against them. That being said, Ivan, the RMA guy, seemed nice, although incorrect and powerless.
