Macs are so modern

AMD has announced the ATI Radeon X1900 G5 Mac Edition, a next-generation graphics card that combines workstation-class creative productivity and cutting-edge 3D game performance, according to the company.

The ATI Radeon X1900 G5 Mac Edition represents a high-performance PCI Express graphics upgrade card for the Power Mac G5 Quad and Power Mac G5 Dual, AMD said. Upgrading to the ATI Radeon X1900 G5 Mac helps pro-application users maximize their creative potential with the powerful PCI Express-based Power Mac G5 Quad and Power Mac G5 Dual.

I found this hilarious, Mac's are so up to date.
X1900's aren't the current highest performing card from AMD, nor are the G5's the best from Apple.

Synergy - Seven letters of awesome

4 November 2006 Tags

While reading Whirlpool (funnily, getting into a debate), I stumbled across Synergy.
Synergy allows you to share your input devices with other computers via the network.

What does this mean?

Laptops have craptastic keyboards. They usually have crap mice too.

My desktop, on the other hand, has a Logitech Media Elite Keyboard, with a Logitech MX 510 hooked up to it.

Synergy connects the input devices of the two.

That means my laptop now can use my desktop keyboard and mouse.

They don't share a monitor, like a KVM, but in some cases thats handy. For example, my desktop can do what it does best - play games - while my laptop handles the other stuff, like IM/IRC, surfing, etc.
All I have to do is drag the cursor to the right of my desktop screen, and voila, its on my laptop.

Tremble in fear…

Thor (my desktop computer) is back!

Nothing much to report yet, the 7900GT gave me ~3->600 more 3DMark06 points, but I’ve been too busy with other things to do much else.

Weeee…

Edit: decided to throw in a network map
